This is a new segment to express my love for the game. I see that through out the timeline of rap/hip-hop there has always been disagreements and disputes among artist. The music is definitely an outlet for dialogue in these battles. Beef.
What I wanted to discuss or re discuss was the release of Lil’ Wayne’s Tha Carter V. Wayne has said that his retirement will begin once that is released. He’s been in this rap game for a long time and maybe Wayne needed this time away to readjust.
Now what is not happening is that the apparently last Lil’ Wayne album is not getting released. The label and president Birdman, Wayne’s longtime father figure ain’t putting out the fifth piece to his son’s greatest work. The two are apparently not speaking and this situation is only boiling.
Wayne wants off the Cash Money label and to make things even more heated is that Young Thug another Cash Money artist is calling his debut album the Carter VI. Young Thug is the rapper for a new generation. His style is unique but his tones in the music just get you hooked. And Young Thug is the artist Birdman seems to be focusing all his energy on.
Thugga was basing the title to a statement Wayne made about when he retires no one will make music like his. Young Thug claims that his music is just as real as Lil’ Wayne’s and calling it the Carter 6 will be a response to Wayne’s thoughts on his music.
Bold move and I can’t help but wonder if Birdman approves of the title for the album Young Thug has chosen? When’s his album getting released? With all the effort Birdman has been putting into Young Thug’s career, will we see a Carter 6 before we see a Carter 5?
Does a torch only get passed or can it be taken from a thief?
