The basketball world is chaos at the moment, and some of the confusion has nothing to do with basketball. LeBron and Kyrie are dealing with their celebrity status, while Kobe is almost ready to hang up the jersey in L.A. Everyone is reminded of the Chicago Bulls winning seasons 95-96, only because Golden State is near breaking that streak the Bulls pulled off back in the day.
You know we as sport speculators, we fantasize about unrealistic match ups. It’s food for thought, yet that taste will never have a taste because it’s impossible. There is no correct answer and really it’s to each their own.
Scottie Pippen was on that Bulls team and he shared his thoughts on what that match up would be like if it really went down. According to Pippen, 96 Bulls versus 2016 Warriors, Chicago would dominate through defense and Pippen would be guarding Curry.
Stephen Curry at the moment is unstoppable, living life la vida loca behind the three point line. I admire Pippen for the imaginary bravery, being the one to shut down Curry’s firing power.
Golden State is playing some great basketball at the moment and trying to match them up with another team from another era is gossip. First of all the coach Steve Kerr was a player for the Bulls back then, so wouldn’t that create some traumatic episode because in this made-up game people would get freaked out with there being two Steve Kerrs on the court or will it be the same Kerr, he just needs to switch sides from time-to-time?
